Kling Klang Produkt
©℗ 1981 Warner Bros Records Inc.

Manufactured by Polygram in Hanover West Germany. Printed in West Germany.

This is the highly sought-after 'target' pressing. It is prized because of its alleged flat transfer from the original Kling Klang analog tapes.

Also released in a longbox, with different artwork (which covers the entire front of longbox) than on the actual CD cover or booklet.

Read the notes on this version. I have one and it sounds great. In fact, it's the only one I play.

I'm totally amazed that I have this. Didn't collect it. I bought it new, in long box, back in 1985.

Seriously? I have this CD! What if it's a bit used? My brother bought this in Europe around that time. Everything is written the same, even the runout & rights society. How can i really be sure it's the same edition?

If it has the Warner Bros logo on the disc, it's the same edition. Congrats. :)

I suspect this transfer is not quite "flat" and actually just has pre-emphasis applied (but apparently not flagged in the TOC or subcode). If you apply the de-emphasis EQ, it sounds exactly like the Computerwelt CD mastering, to my ears. There is also a mastering error: the first beats (at around 0:22–0:23) of "Numbers" have severe aliasing. You can see it in a detailed spectrogram and you can hear that the some of the arpeggio synth sounds have some extra "tone" to them as compared to other releases, especially in the left channel.I posted a spectrogram comparison in another forum.

I think that's only a mastering decision. The European CD isn't that bright, but no pre-emphasis in my opinion, it's only a tad on the bright side. It would also be quite unusual for a CD of this period to have pre-emphasis IMO
